68Why I Collect Pictures of Horses
The walls of our house are covered with pictures, most of which have some nostalgic memory associated with them.
As I have a life-long passion for horses, many of the pictures show horses we have owned. They give me a lot of pleasure.
Other people collect pictures of horses just because they like horses. The do, after all make a good subjects for pictures because they can be photographed, drawn and painted in so many different locations and actions.
One of the purposes of starting this lens is to increase and broaden my knowledge of horse painting. I have just started a collection of paintings as an investment portfolio. This will mean that I have to develop a good judgment of painting as well as of what i like.
Over the next few months I will be scouring galleries and shops looking for new and upcoming artists to patronise.
It is also part of the plan to do a lot more research into painting of horses to help me develop a good "eye" for a painting.
The whole project goes back to when our daughter was studying art at school and I helped her with one of her art projects. That got me interested and, now that I have a bit more time I intend to rekindle my interest.
I hope that you will read along with me and follow as I build up my collection.
I will be handing down advice as I learn useful facts and information about collecting pictures of horses.

YOU KNOW WE STUDIED THEM IN SCHOOL. THEY DID NOT EXIST IN SOUTH AMERICA.I LOVE THEM THERE MY FAV ANIMAL AND DOLPHINS BUT I LIKE HORSES THE MOST.

hello fellow horse lover! i've got some silly pics of my horse & i from last halloween i'll share with you :-) i'll set up a hub for them...we were "jesters" in a "court" of other horse friends...well what else could i be with a spotted horse? lol looking forward to getting to know you better. i will also post some of the fav equine artists i've found for you....some are paintings, some photos, but all quite lovely. :-)
